A Day

Periods 1 and 2 Honors Geometry, grade 9
Objective: Students will learn to use the Pythagorean Theorem to find area, length of sides and possible triples in order to model real-world situations. Following the warm up, Mrs.Dennard distributed the Chapter 6 test. Mrs. Dennard taught the lesson and students had time to begin the practice before taking a brief quiz on Ch 7-1 & 7- 2.
Classwork Assignment: Text pp.357-365 #1-35

Next quiz on Friday Ch 7-1 through 7-4.

Period 3 Math Studies IB grade 11
Objective: Students will solve problems of zero gradient, local maxima and minima and optimisation in order to model real-world problems. The recent Quiz on the first part of the Calculus unit was returned to students. Error analyses on this quiz are due by Wednesday, 4/28. Mrs. Dennard went over the correct solutions to the quiz, and also reviewed the warm up scheduled for Friday. After today's warm up, Mrs.Dennard explained how to calculate the zero gradient coordinated, and local minma and maxima.
