Folowing the warm-up, there was a brief question and answer period before the larger quiz. Students took a quiz on Chapter 4-1 through 4-3. Students atarted on Chapter 4-4 - Using CPCTC, after the quiz. Homework: Text p. 204-205, #1-14.

Math Studies IB

Objective: Students will analyze graphs of quadratic functions in order to solve real-world problems. Following the warm-up, a brief question and answer period was held for any homework questions.

There was a brief discussion of the validity of the IB grading criteria, in that multiple methods for dsolving problems are often not considered for points. Mrs. Dennard urged students to use the methods presented in class, and in their IB texts to achieve the most points on the exams. Indeed, when there is a relatively high point value for a simple question, make sure you are showing you all of the procedures used to get the solution. The high point value is the clue that method points are likely to be counted in here.

Students were guided through a review of quadratic graphing in the Oxford text pp.184-192.

Assignment: Exercise 4.3: #1-7c.
