A Day

Periods 1 and 2 Honors Geometry, grade 9

Objective: Students will learn to find the area of a regular polygon in order to solve real-world problems. Following the warm up, Mrs. Dennard discussed each students' progress report with the individual. If there are any corrections to be made, students must staple the graded paper to the progress report, and highlight which assignment is recorded incorrectly. Then Mrs.Dennard taught the new lesson, and students took notes and started on the practice assignment in small groups. Assignment: Text pp. 380-383,#1-20, and #18-32 evens.
Homework - Practice sheet 7-5 on the back of the warm up sheet.
Next quiz is Thursday, May 6 on Chapter 7-1 through 7-5.


Work hard - get smart!


Period 3 Math Studies IB, grade 11

Objective: Students will continue to review any problem areas remaining to best prepare for the IB Paper 1 exam tomorrow.Following the warm up, students worked in small groups on specific problem areas. During 4th period, students were released from Mrs. Carney's class for the last 45 minutes to work with Mrs.Dennard in room A238. At that time students read the examination advice in Oxford text pp 414-418. Students would be wise to read this again tonite.
Homework: Continue to practice exam problems as needed, but please STOP at about 6pm and relax this evening. Get to sleep a little earlier than usual so you are well rested for tomorrow. Remember, you have had assignments in each and every objective of this course and you are prepared to do very well indeed!
