B Day


Periods 1 and 2 Accelerated Algebra 1, grade 9

Objective: Students will solve exponential problems in order to solve real-world problems. Following the warm up, Mrs.Dennard went over the Finance word problems on the homework before beginning the new lesson on exponential growth.
Assignment: pp. 441,#1-19.Period 2 students received the 4th Quarter Project today. Period 1 students received this project last week. Please make sure you are making progress on your project! I am available after school on Thursday for extra help, or for you to use the computer in A-238.
Homework: Back of the warm up worksheet.

Period 3, Pre-Calculus, IB, grade 11

Objective: Students will evaluat and graph exponential functions in order to solve real-world problems. Following the warm up, Mrs Dennard went over last night's homework, and retaught the lesson from yesterday. Students reviewed the properties of logarithms on p. 455.
After lunch, we viewed a lecture by Dr. Michael Starbird of Univ. of Texas at Austin on the Big Ideas of Calculus.
Assignment: Sullivan text handout: p.61, Mc Newton's Coffee:#1-6.
Quiz on Properties of Logarithms on Friday.
